Valkyrie required exacting details and historical accuracy.
My first of three films with Tom Meyer as his Supervising AD, I am proud of my work with him. An important historical film, Valkyrie required exacting details and historical accuracy. Obtaining authentic German equipment here in the US was extremely difficult and we were forced to do quite a bit of alteration and fabrication of existing tanks and trucks. Our scenes were limited, as the bulk of the film was already shot in Germany: We handled the opening desert sequence, the bombed out church, an atrocity scene in the mountains (later cut) and the close up work in the tent (during the intro), over a period of about 14 weeks.
